Three pieces of glass in this window had cracked due to the failing lead. (After about a century, the lead came structure typically starts to deteriorate.)
The real challenge of this repair was soldering new lead to the much older, existing lead, as they had different chemistries and profiles. You can see where the lead has broken, the came has warped, and the solder has split.
This window likely came from a northern climate, where extreme temperature fluctuations caused ongoing stress on the glass due to the expansion and contraction of the lead came.
